Allein Maliksi scored half of his team’s points in overtime as the Blackwater Elite repelled the TNT KaTropa, 104-98, on Friday in the elimination round of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

Maliksi finished the game with 28 points and nine boards, including nine of his team’s 18 overtime points. Henry Walker tallied 12, while Rabeh Al-Hussaini and Nard Pino scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, as starters.

The Elite were ahead by as many as seven points a little over five minutes left in regulation, before TNT uncorked a 10-0 run to take the lead heading into the final two minutes, 83-80.

Jayson Castro stretched the KaTropa’s advantage to as many as four points, but TNT did not score in the final 1:39, allowing Mike Digregorio and Henry Walker to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Allen Maliski and Nard Pinto then took over in extra time, cashing in on jumpers to give Blackwater an eight-point lead, 97-89.

TNT was able to cut the lead to four with 1:28 remaining, but Maliksi did enough to pad the Elite’s advantage en route to victory.

Terrence Romeo paced TNT with 24 points, while import Stacy Davis tallied 23 with 16 rebounds. Jayson Castro had 20 points, while RR Pogoy led the bench with 11. —R. Fopalan/LBG, GMA News
