Fuller fires 35 as NLEX routs Columbian
Aaron Fuller exploded for 35 points with 21 rebounds and seven assists to lift the NLEX Road Warriors past the Columbian Dyip, 116-104, on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Fuller had a lot of help, with veteran Larry Fonacier leading the way with 17 points. Kenneth Ighalo posted 15, while JR Quinahan and Pong Galanza chipped in 10 apiece.
Only five points separated the two squads entering the final 3:24, but NLEX outscored Columbian 9-2 in the final three minutes to take the win.
Akeem Wright tried to carry Columbian by scoring 37 points with 17 rebounds and five assists, but the import also accounted for seven of his team’s 20 rebounds. Jerramy King added 22, while Glenn Khobuntin rounded up the Dyip in double figures with 10.
The Road Warriors benefitted from a 48 percent clip from the field, thanks to a high 58 percent average within the arc. NLEX also dished out 32 assists to Columbian’s 18.
With the win, NLEX improved to 3-1, while Columbian remained winless at 0-3. — BAP, GMA News
