Castro, Romeo combine for 47 as TNT keeps Columbian winless
The TNT KaTropa leaned on Jayson Castro and Terrence Romeo in defeating the Columbian Dyip, 118-114, on Sunday in the elimination round of the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup.
Castro tallied 25 points with seven assists and six boards, while Romeo tallied 22 with six assists to lead the KaTropa.
Import Stacy Davis played limited time, hitting just 11 off the bench in 11 minutes.
Anthony Semerad rounded up the KaTropa starters in double figures with 15, while RR Pogoy led the bench with 16.
Back to back triples from Jerramy King gave Columbian a two-point lead with 2:42 remaining, 103-101, but Romeo and Pogoy responded with their respective long bombs to give TNT the advantage.
Back to back layups off a timeout tied the game with 12 seconds left, as Romeo missed the game-winner before the buzzer to lead to overtime.
In extra time, TNT went to Pogoy first, before Castro and Romeo took over to take the win.
King led Columbian with 26 points and nine boards, while import Akeem Wright chipped in 24. Rashawn McCarthy and Russel Escoto added 18 and 15 points, respectively. —KG, GMA News
