Comboy makes 18 to lift FEU past NU
The FEU Tamaraws defeated the NU Bulldogs, 73-68, Wednesday, at the Mall of Asia Arena, to improve their record to 3-2.
"You're always happy with a bounce-back victory, but our problem is after the victory. Ang sama namin mag-respond sa victory. Ganun ang story namin eh. We won our first game, we lost the second. We got a bounce back, we lost the next one," said FEU head coach Olsen Racela, referring to the team's big loss against the UE Red Warriors last Sunday.
"More than the bouncing back, ang dapat namin gawin is to be consistent with our approach to every game," he added.

Wendell Comboy topped the Tamaraws with 18 points. "Sa tingin ko, naging excited kaming lahat na players na bumawi. Especially, nag-step up din 'yung rookie namin," Comboy said.
FEU rookie Louell Gonzales pitched in nine points. "Siguro, naging lesson sa amin 'yung pagkatalo namin sa UE," he said. "Tapos two days lang preparation namin. Pukpok lang nang pukpok hanggang sa, maganda naging training namin, maganda naging result ng game."
The Tamaraws now share the third spot with La Salle, while the NU Bulldogs are at the bottom of the standings with one win and three losses.
Both teams will play next on Sunday, with the Tamaraws facing league leaders Adamson, while the Bulldogs will face the UP Fighting Maroons.
Asked about their upcoming matchup against Adamson, Racela said that his Adamson counterpart Franz Pumaren has the advantage because of the Tamaraws' tight schedule.
"Kami, we have back-to-back-to-back games. We cannot control that. Ang control lang namin ay kung paano kami magpre-prepare. Hopefully, two days will be enough to play or go up against the undefeated [Adamson Falcons]," he said.
