Buildings across US turn purple and gold to mourn Kobe Bryant

Buildings across the US, some of them landmarks, have lit up in purple and gold to mourn the passing of basketball icon Kobe Bryant.

Purple and gold are the colors of the Los Angeles Lakers, with whom Bryant played for the entirety of his 20-season career.

Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others were killed in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on Sunday (early morning, PHL time).

One of the buildings is the Los Angeles City Hall. Posting the photo of the municipal building lit up in the Los Angeles Lakers' colors, Mayor Eric Garcetti called them, "Lights for a legend." — BM, GMA News
