Kobe's legacy is his generosity in sharing wisdom —sports analyst
For sports analyst Chino Trinidad, Kobe Bryant's greatest legacy is his passion and generosity to share his wisdom to the people who look up to him, effectively transcending matters inside and outside the basketball court.
"'Yung kaniyang legacy to humanity is his unselfishness to share whatever he had," Trinidad said in an interview on Unang Balita on Tuesday. "Sabi niya you don't have to be a basketball player, a great athlete to be able to be great."
"The best way to celebrate him—'yung legacy niya—the making of a legend [ay] susundan natin kasi iniwan niya sa atin 'yung ingredients at hindi siya selfish... He was more than willing to give you 'yung kaniyang secrets and 'yung secrets go beyond basketball," he added.
Trinidad said that the Black Mamba — as Bryant was called by his legions of fans worldwide — was into connecting with people, making him an effective channel of inspiration.
"Si Kobe kapag kinausap ka, alam mo 'yung bumabaon sa kaluluwa mo 'yung pagtingin niya? Iba 'yung Kobe Bryant, 'yung intensity niya, hindi lang sa paglalaro pero the way he handles people," he said.
"He wants you to feel na sa tatlong minuto na magkasama kayo eh magkakilala kayo. No wonder ganiyan ang epekto niya sa buong mundo," Trinidad added.
Kobe died with his daughter and seven others in a helicopter crash in California on Sunday (LA time), leaving a huge void in the hearts of those whom he inspired through his basketball career.
"It has to be the highest honor any basketball player can get and Kobe will get that posthumously," Trinidad said. "[That] would cement the place of Kobe among the basketball legends." —Dona Magsino/KBK, GMA News
