A Filipino-American assistant basketball coach was one of the nine people killed on Monday (Manila time) when a helicopter crashed into a hillside in Calabasas, California.

According to Mike Enriquez's Tuesday report on "24 Oras," Christina Mauser, an assistant coach in Mamba Academy, died along with NBA legend Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and six others on board in the tragic incident. Mauser was 38.

In a Reuters' report, Los Angeles County coroner's investigators, working alongside the National Transportation Safety Board inspectors, said they had recovered the first three bodies from the crash site.

NTSB inspectors are looking into weather conditions and limited visibility as possible cause of the incident.

Authorities said there were visibility issues as the foggy weather forced the Los Angeles Police Department to ground their own helicopter fleet.

A United States National Transportation board member, meanwhile, said the pilot of Bryant's helicopter was flying too low.

The NTSB and the Federal Aviation Administration are conducting their own separate investigations regarding the matter.

Bryant, Gianna, Mauser, and the six others were traveling to Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks for a basketball game that day before the tragedy happened.

Bryant is survived by his wife Vanessa and daughters Natalia, Bianka and Capri, who is only seven months old.
