Taguig artists honor Kobe Bryant with mural in a basketball court
After Kobe Bryant's death last week, Taguig City artists paid tribute to the NBA legend with a mural at a barangay basketball court, which he visited during one of his travels to the Philippines.
The painting, which spanned the entire basketball court of Barangay Ususan, was an image of the late Lakers superstar wearing his number 24 jersey.
According to a press release, it is to "reminisce his legacy in basketball."
Bryant stepped foot on the same court during his Mamba Mentality Tour in 2016, where he shared his knowledge to young cagers of Taguig.
The five-time NBA champion first visited Taguig when he conducted a basketball clinic for school children at the Nike Park in Bonifacio Global City for his Supernatural Asia Tour in 2007.
He followed it with a visit in 2011 for a basketball training camp in Barangay Pinagsama.
