The numbers 24 and 2 held much significance for Vanessa as those were the numbers of the basketball jerseys worn by Kobe and Gianna, respectively.

Vanessa added that the last number, 20, referred to the years Kobe played for the Lakers.

According to a Friday report from the Los Angeles Times, the event, to start at 10 a.m., will be a public memorial service to the basketball legend and his young daughter who died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, along with seven other victims, on January 26, Sunday.

Other details of the memorial service will be announced at a later date, according to Vanessa's post.

A few days after the tragedy, the bereaved widow broke her silence and posted a long, emotional message on Instagram. — MDM, GMA News
