UST coach Ayo wishes Cansino the best, declines comment on alleged training bubble

University of Santo Tomas (UST) men's basketball head coach Aldin Ayo said "differences" in orientation led to CJ Cansino's exit from España.

In a statement released Sunday night, Ayo said, "The circumstances of life today have brought out the marked differences between my orientation in life and the fundamental option of our player CJ Cansino."

"We have found that it would be best that we part ways and allow maximum growth for each other," he added.

Ayo thanked Cansino for being a part of the team and wished the best for him in his next endeavor.

UST probing alleged bubble

The UST head coach also spoke about the allegations of a training bubble in Sorsogon amid the imposed community quarantines.

"I will not comment for now as UST is already investigating the matter as well as the IATF," he said.

"I am fully cooperating with the on-going investigations and praying that in due time, this will be properly addressed."

Cansino neither confirmed nor denied the existence of a training bubble. "Humihingi ako ng sorry sa mga tao na humihingi ng sagot na 'yun, lalo na sa UST fans, dahil ayoko na magsalita," the former UST star said in an online interview.

UST on Sunday morning said it will conduct a probe into the alleged breach of protocols.

The University Athletics Association of the Philippines, on the other hand, will allow the university to investigate the matter first.
