UAAP to review reports of UST, NU on alleged breach of quarantine protocols

The University Athletics Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will review the reports of the University of Santo Tomas and National University on their respective teams' alleged breach of quarantine protocols.

The league announced that its Board of Managing Directors will convene on Thursday to discuss the issue and "other related cases" before taking "pertinent actions."

The statement was released after representatives from the two universities met with officials from the UAAP, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Games and Amusement Board (GAB), Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Department of Health (DOH).

"The meeting was an important step towards the resolution of these issues that concern student-athletes of UAAP member-schools," the statement read.

Reports on the alleged "Sorsogon bubble" of the UST men's basketball team surfaced after former team captain CJ Cansino suddenly announced his departure from the university.

The UAAP was also asked to clarify with NU reports of alleged training by their volleyball teams.
