GAB reinstates Calvin Abueva's professional license
The Games and Amusements Board (GAB) has decided to reinstate the professional license of Phoenix Fuelmasters’ Calvin Abueva.
In a statement released on Friday, board chair Abraham Mitra said Abueva needs to undergo a seminar on the code of conduct and ethics of a professional athlete, and a mandatory drug test as part of the conditions on reinstating Abueva’s license to play.

“Calvin Abueva was remorseful in what he did and was sincere enough to accept his wrongdoings,” Mitra said in a statement.
The board chair said Abueva also promised not to repeat the mistakes he committed and will “set a good example to the audience, especially his young fans.”
Abueva's professional license was revoked following his suspension from the league.
“We have people in all the games and they share same observations as the PBA when they recommended it,” Mitra said in a message to GMA News Online.
While there is no official word yet if the PBA has lifted his suspension which was imposed June 2019, Abueva on Tuesday teased on his PBA return after he posted a photo going to the bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
The PBA will return to action on October 11. —JCB, GMA News
