Jeff Perlas to succeed Topex Robinson as Lyceum Pirates head coach

Jeff Perlas will succeed Topex Robinson as the head coach of the Lyceum Pirates.

According to a press release, Robinson has been promoted as team consultant and will remain as the Lyceum system's director for basketball operations.

He has been recently appointed as the interim head coach of Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters in the PBA.

Perlas, meanwhile, said he will continue Robinson's culture of "love, serve, and care" in the Pirates.

"Ang pinaka mahirap na ma-establish sa isang team is 'yung culture. Once you have that, madali na magturo ng Xs and Os. Kaya every time na kumukuha kami ng new recruits, we look at their character," he said.

Prior to Lyceum, Perlas was a part of the coaching staff of National University that won the 2014 men's basketball title.

Rommel Adducul, Gilbert Malabanan, Ricky Reyes, and Kevin Lacap will serve as Perlas' assistant coaches.

The Pirates ended the elimination round of NCAA Season 95 with a 13-5 record. They were defeated by eventual champions Letran Knights in the playoffs. —Justin Kenneth Carandang/MGP, GMA News
