Parks scores 40 in TNT debut, stalls Terrafirma Dyip


Ray Parks immediately made an impact in his TNT debut after scoring 40 points in their 112-101 win over Terrafirma Dyip in the elimination round of the PBA Philippine Cup on Tuesday.

With a 90-75 lead at the start of the final frame, Parks made a 5-0 run to further extend their cushion less than two minutes into the quarter.

JP Calvo made 10 markers from the Dyip's 26-point output in the period, but it was already too late for Terrafirma.

Tropang Giga led by as many as 20 points, 51-31, after a Troy Rosario trey at the 2:36 mark of the second period and held a 56-43 lead at the end of the first half.

With the win, TNT is now at the top of the standings with a 2-0 card.

Aside from Parks, Rosario also had a brilliant performance for TNT, registering 20 points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Terrafirma's CJ Perez scored 30 points while Glenn Khobuntin made 16.

Tropang Giga will face defending champs San Miguel Beer, while Dyip will try to bounce back against Rain or Shine on Friday.
