Alaska dominates Blackwater in blowout victory
Alaska booked their second win the PBA bubble after routing Blackwater, 120-82, in the elimination round of the Philippine Cup on Tuesday.
The Aces snapped the Elite's usual third quarter rampage in their first three games , which saw them score at least 30 points to open the second half.
Against Alaska, Blackwater was limited to just 21 points in the frame while giving up 32, ending the period with a 90-61 deficit.
The Aces led by 41 at the 5:08 mark of the final period, making it almost impossible for the Elite to recover and stage a comeback.
Alaska dominated early in the game, ending the first 12 minutes of action at 38-17, enough to get a 58-40 advantage as the first half went to a close.
All of its players scored in the game, with Barkley Eboña leading the Aces with 24 points. Five others hit double digits.
The Elite, meanwhile, only had two players to score in double figures. Ed Daquioag had 18 points, while Mike Tolomia added 10.
Alaska, now with a 2-2 record, will go against Rain or Shine on Thursday. Blackwater, also at 2-2, will play the earlier game against TNT on the same day.
