Referee inside PBA bubble tests positive for COVID-19 —report

A referee working inside the PBA bubble in Pampanga has tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to a report on the PBA website, the game official took the mandatory swab test along with 27 others on Monday.

The referee's three previous tests, two before entering the bubble and one inside, yielded negative results.

This is the first positive case in the bubble since the season resumed on October 11.

The referee has been taken to the Athlete's Village in Tarlac for quarantine. Close contacts have been put in isolation and will be tested again on Saturday.

The PBA said games will continue as scheduled, but all activities on Wednesday have been temporarily suspended for sanitation purposes. Stricter protocols will also be implemented in the bubble and during games. —MGP, GMA News
