Rain or Shine books final playoffs spot after holding off TNT

Rain or Shine booked the final quarterfinals spot in the PBA Philippine Cup after holding off TNT, 80-74, in their last elimination round game on Tuesday.

The game was tied 74-74 all with a minute left in the game after a JP Erram basket, but the Elasto Painters scored the final six points of the match to close out Tropang Giga.

James Yap and Javee Mocon led Rain or Shine with 16 points apiece, while Beau Belga and Mark Borboran added 12 and 10 markers, respectively.

Troy Rosario had 18 points for TNT in the absence of veteran leader Jayson Castro, while JP Erram and Ray Parks combined for 25 points.

The E-Painters now hold a 6-4 card ahead of their final game in the elimination round against Phoenix.

Tropang Giga, meanwhile, ended the eliminations with a 7-4 card. Their quarterfinal seeding depends on the outcome of the remaining games.

Meanwhile, NLEX has been officially eliminated from playoff contention with Rain or Shine's win.
