Phoenix spoils Ray Parks' 41-point explosion to extract payback vs TNT

Phoenix Super LPG extracted a payback from TNT after a 110-103 victory in Game 2 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals on Friday.

The Fuelmasters spoiled the 41-point rampage of Ray Parks, who hit 10 three-pointers before fouling out with 4:59 still on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Jason Perkins scored 21 points for Phoenix, while Calvin Abueva stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists. Justin Chua added 18 markers and eight boards.

Parks exploded right out of the gates and drained with six triples for Tropang Giga, who were only down by one at the end of the opening period.

By halftime, however, Phoenix created a 60-45 cushion with several players contributing baskets.

TNT cut the deficit to six points at the end of the third and continued its rally in the fourth, briefly taking the lead 92-90 after a layup by Troy Rosario with 5:15 left.

Parks fouled out a few moments later, sending Abueva to line. The Beast hit both free throws and the Fuelmasters never looked back, making sure to close the game cleanly to tie the series 1-1.

The two teams will play again on Sunday for the crucial Game 3.  A victory will put the winner one game away from punching a finals ticket.
