Gilas Pilipinas dominates Thailand in FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers

The young Gilas Pilipinas squad drubbed Thailand, 93-61, to open their campaign in the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 qualifiers on Friday.

After a neck-and-neck opening frame which ended at 21-19, Gilas made a 32-point rampage against Thailand in the second period to end the first half with a 53-29 advantage.

The team never looked back from then on, keeping the pressure on the Thais until the final buzzer.

With the win, Gilas now has a 2-0 card in the qualifiers. The Philippine team won against Indonesia last February, 100-70.

They will face Thailand again on Monday.
