Bobby Ray Parks Jr. to sit out 2021 PBA season, cites ‘family’ reasons

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. has announced that he will sit out this year’s season of the Philippine Basketball Association due to personal reasons.

“It is with a heavy heart that I will have to excuse myself and not partake in this year’s PBA season due to personal reasons which in particular, my family,” Parks said in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“It was not an easy decision to make, especially since I’ve been in constant talks with TNT management, but right now, this is what’s best for me and my family,” he added.

“I will always be grateful for the opportunity to represent TNT and be part of such a special team and culture,” said the TNT Tropang Giga guard.

“Hopefully one day, once everything is resolved, I can come back to the team and help bring a championship to TNT.”

In November, Parks ended up at the top of the statistical points race as the semifinals of the PBA’s 45th season wrapped up.

According to an update on the PBA website, Parks, who was previously at the fourth spot, posted an average of 22.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game to finish at the top with 38.3 statistical points. – RC, GMA News
