NLEX guard Jericho Cruz is living the dream.

The former Adamson Falcons standout is currently training in the US with the Guam national team as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers which, incidentally, is set to be held in the Philippines after the SBP was awarded the hosting rights.

They are currently training at the Sports Academy (formerly known as Mamba Sports Academy), which is hands down one of the world’s most popular training facilities.

And while there, Cruz also chanced upon Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schröder.

Cruz, a Filipino-Guamanian, first saw action with the Guam team last February 23 when it lost to New Zealand, 113-94, but they have yet to return to court due to the pandemic.

On the other hand, the famed Academy was founded in 2016 and was later introduced as the Mamba Sports Academy back in 2018 when the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant joined the venture.

The facility, however, made a change to the name following the tragic death of Bryant last year. —Bea Micaller/JMB, GMA News
