PBA postpones 2 games on July 21 as 4 TNT players need to retest for COVID-19

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) postponed two games scheduled on Wednesday as four players require confirmatory COVID-19 tests.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the PBA postponed the scheduled Terrafirma Dyip-Alaska Aces and TNT Tropang Giga-Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok matches in accordance with the league's health and safety protocols.

"Four TNT Tropang Giga players have returned tests that were either positive or need to be confirmed for COVID-19 under government approved league protocols," the PBA said in a statement.

"They are now isolated and will be tested again. The rest of the team who tested negative are also isolated and will be retested," the league added.

The Terrafirma team all tested negative, but they were the last team played by TNT last July 17. The PBA said they are also isolated and will be tested again.

Despite the postponement, the league will still push through with other games on Wednesday.

Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters will face the NorthPort Batang Pier at 3 p.m., while Magnolia will still see action against the Alaska Aces, at 6 p.m.
