Juami Tiongson stars as Terrafirma completes upset win over San Miguel Beer
The feisty Terrafirma Dyip needed extra five minutes to pull off a 110-104 upset victory over the San Miguel Beermen in the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday in Bacolor, Pampanga.
The Beermen, who are playing without veteran guard Alex Cabagnot, led by as many as 16 points but Dyip turned things around in the fourth quarter after unleashing a 9-0 run to cut the lead to six, 80-86.
Chris Ross stemmed the bleeding after two straight baskets for SMB, but Dyip ignited for an 8-0 run highlighted by Tingson's heroics to make it a one-possession game, 88-90.
