Thirdy Ravena limited to seven points as San-en falls to Kagawa in Emperor's Cup
Thirdy Ravena and the San-en Neophoenix fell to the Kagawa Five Arrows, 95-71, in the third round of the 97th Emperor's Cup All Japan Basketball Championship on Monday.
The Five Arrows pulled away in the second quarter after detonating for 28 points against San-en's 18, which ended the first half at 51-37. The Kagawa dominance continued, limiting San-en to just 13 in the third period to end with a sizable 72-50 lead.
Ravena was limited to just seven points, but grabbed seven boards in the losing effort. Yusei Suigara led the team with 16 points, Justin Knox scored 14, while Robert Carter added 11.
Rhys Vague led Kagawa with 26 points on seven triples, to go with nine rebounds and five assists.
With the loss, San-en will be eliminated from the tournament.
Earlier, Matt Aquino's Shinshu Brave Warriors escaped the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 69-67. Aquino, however, did not log any minutes in the match.
