World Balance unveils Scottie Thompson's signature sneakers

Footwear brand World Balance unveiled the design and features of Barangay Ginebra's Scottie Thompson's first-ever signature shoe with the company: the World Balance Scottie 1.

Thompson had first-hand experience with the sneakers after having worn a pair of it in two PBA conferences, the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup where his squad reigned supreme, and the recently-concluded 2021 Philippine Cup.

"Actually, 2 conferences ko nang nagamit itong shoes and wala talaga ako masabi sa comfort and performance talaga,” Thompson said.

He also had also said previously that he knew he would have a lot of creative input in developing the shoe with World Balance.

"It really resonated with me to know that I could humbly represent and wear one of our own homegrown brands while playing on big arenas every game season, yun ang may impact para sakin.”

The Scottie 1 features a midsole called 'S-Ride', which provides "superior and responsive cushioning", and the Lateral Sway Bar to help athletes reduce the chances of sustaining ankle injuries.

World Balance shared a teaser for the Scottie 1 late last month and said the sneakers will be available in the market soon.
