Jimmy Alapag marks first G League coaching gig with win as Kings drub Warriors

Jimmy Alapag opened his breakthrough NBA G League coaching stint with a victory as his Stockton Kings beat the Santa Cruz Warriors, 122-97, on Saturday (Manila time) at the Kaiser Permanente Arena.

Alapag, who serves as one of Bobby Jackson's assistant coaches, helped steer the squad to its first win of the season with Louise King leading the way.

King fired 33 points, built on five huge triples, alongside seven rebounds, and four assists while Neemias Queta finished with 24 markers, four boards, and one dime. Jahmi'us Ramsey was also pivotal after he carved out 21 points.

Alapag was coming off a championship run in the 2021 NBA Summer League after Sacramento Kings, Stockton's NBA team affiliate, edged the Boston Celtics, 100-67, last August.
