Gilas prospect Sage Tolentino signs with University of Cincinnati in NCAA Division I

Sage Tolentino is now set to join the University of Cincinnati, a Division I school in the US National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The Bearcats welcomed the Hawaii-raised slotman to the men's basketball team through a tweet on Thursday (Manila time).

Head coach Wes Miller could not hide his excitement of working alongside the Filipino-American cager and said he's looking forward to coaching Tolentino.

"He's skilled, long, athletic and has versatility at 7-foot-1 to guard multiple positions. He can step out and shoot the three, and he's our type of kid," Miller said.

"He's fun-loving with a great personality, but I love that when he works, he's very serious about his game. I'm real excited to welcome him to our program."

Tolentino is part of signing class ahead of the 2022-2023 season where he was joined by another signee in Josh Reed.

Previously, towering Gilas Pilipinas prospect got the attention of other elite NCAA schools like the University of Kansas and University of Kentucky. He later committed to Auburn University but changed his mind and reopened his recruitment process.
