Juan Gomez de Liaño, Tokyo Z fail in bid for back-to-back wins, fall to Ehime


Juan Gomez de Liaño and the Earthfriends Tokyo Z failed in their attempt for back-to-back wins against the Ehime Orange Vikings after falling, 84-57, in a rematch on Saturday in the 2021 Japan B. League's second division (B2).

The Gilas Pilipinas recruit matched his output in Earthfriends' 98-65 breakthrough win last night, finishing with seven points, four rebounds, and two assists. Marc Eddy Norelia led Tokyo Z with a double-double of 18 markers, 11 boards, and two steals.

Takumi Masuko chipped in 15 points and four assists as Earthfriends dropped to 1-14. Ehime, meanwhile, improved to 4-11.

Tokyo Z will next tackle Yamagata on November 29, Monday, with hopes to salvage their season.

Meanwhile, another Filipino cager in Kemark Cariño and his Aomori Wat's fell to the Sendai 89ers, 77-55, as they dropped their eighth straight game in the season for a 1-13 win-loss card.

Cariño saw limited minutes anew, producing four points, four rebounds, and a block in 18 minutes of action while Kouki Fujioka carved out 12 markers, two boards, and two assists.

They will face the same team on Sunday, November 21, at 2 p.m.
