Kemark Cariño, Aomori Wat's fall to Sendai 89ers, extend skid to 9 games
Filipino player Kemark Cariño and Aomori Wat's continue struggling as they lost anew to the Sendai 89ers, 88-53, on Sunday in Division 2 of the Japan Professional Basketball League.
After leading by just a single point at the end of the first period, 20-19, Sendai limited Aomori to just eleven points in the second quarter against their 22-point output to take a 42-30 lead at the end of the first half.
The gap continued to widen with the 89ers making 21 points against the seven points of Cariño's team in the fourth period, handing the Wat's their ninth straight loss since winning against Bambitious Nara back in October.
Cariño had four points and a single rebound in 9:45 minutes of action. Renaldo Dixon led Aomori with 17 points and 11 boards.
Justin Burrell, meanwhile, scored 22 points for Sendai, with Devin Oliver having 18 points and 15 rebounds in the 89ers' win. Jerome Meyinsse also logged a double-double of 19 markers and 11 boards.
Aomori (1-14) will play Nara again next weekend.
