TNT set to acquire Carl Bryan Cruz in trade with Blackwater

The TNT Tropang Giga are set to acquire Carl Bryan Cruz from the Blackwater Bossing as part of a three-man trade.

The 6-foot-4 forward Cruz, as well as Mark Acuno, will be headed to TNT in exchange for big man Chris Javier and a future first-round pick.

The development was confirmed to GMA News Online by Cruz' agent, Danny Espiritu, although he noted that the deal has yet to be approved by the PBA trade committee as of posting time.

"I think the trade is fair since a first-round pick is included," Espiritu said in Filipino during an interview. "But I'm not sure if TNT can pick a high-caliber player since they will be the last one to select."

If approved, Cruz will be suiting up for his third team in the PBA since getting selected by the Alaska Aces in 2016. He was traded to Blackwater back in 2019 in a one-on-one trade with Abu Tratter.
