Terrafirma spotless in PBA 3x3 third leg opener, clinches QF berth alongside Sista, Purefoods

Terrafirma was unstoppable on the opening day of the PBA 3x3 third leg on Saturday as the club swept their games to lead Pool A and earn an outright berth for the quarterfinal round.

Terrafirms, still playing without Roider Cabrera, who is in the hospital recovering from a collapse last Wednesday, first defeated Meralco, 22-18, before eking out a 17-14 win over Pioneer Pro Tibay.

The Dyip also turned back the NorthPort Batang Pier, 21-11, to go 3-0.

Not far behind them are the Bolts (2-1) and Pioneer (2-2) who are in second and third spots, respectively, in Pool A while the Batang Pier are in fourth place (1-2).

In Pool B, the Sista Super Sealers are also moving on to the quarterfinal round after their twin wins over Platinum Karaoke, 22-19, and San Miguel Beermen, 21-20.

The Purefoods TJ Titans, who also went 2-0 in the opening day, are marching to the quarterfinal stage as they are currently at top spot of Pool C. The Titans recorded victories over both Limitless Appmasters, 20-17, and the Cavitex Braves, 21-13.

The preliminary round continues on Sunday followed by the knockout playoff round.
