The penultimate leg of the inaugural Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 3x3 kicked off on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Limitless Appmasters and the Leg 4 champion Purefoods TJ Titans are now qualified to the next round after both teams swept their respective games in pool A on the opening day.

Limitless first defeated Zamboanga Valientes (22-7) before pulling off a 21-13 victory over the Pioneer Pro Tibay and a 22-10 triumph of the NorthPort Batang Pier to grab a share of lead of their pool.

Meanwhile, Purefoods also gutted out a 21-19 victory over the Batang Pier before upsetting Zamboanga (21-6) and Pioneer Pro Tibay (21-20). But one team among Purefoods and Limitless will have to endure its first loss as the two clubs tangle on Sunday.

In Pool B, both Terrafirma and Leg 2 titlist Meralco are moving on to the next round while Cavitex Braves and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will still face each other on Sunday to determine which team will fight in the knockout game.

Platinum Karaoke, on the other hand,  is currently leading Pool C with a clean 2-0 slate followed by the San Miguel Beermen at 1-1.

Platinum is already assured of at least a knockout game slot but has to win its last preliminary game against Sista Super Sealers, the third leg champions, to formally clinch a quarterfinal berth.
