Dwight Ramos fires 18 as Toyama beats Kiefer Ravena's Shiga; Parks, Nagoya beat Kyoto

Filipino cagers Dwight Ramos and Ray Parks and their respective clubs picked up wins in the 2021 Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League) on Saturday.

The 23-year-old Ramos steered the Toyama Grouses as they grabbed their fifth win of the season at the expense of another Filipino import Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars, 107-102.

The Gilas national team mainstay helped lead the offensive charge, producing 18 points, five rebounds, and two assists for the Grouses while Julian Mavunga flirted with a triple-double as he posted team-highs of 37 markers, nine dimes, and eight boards.

Ravena finished with eight points and nine assists for the Lakestars.

Toyama improved to 5-12 while Shiga dropped to 6-11.

Meanwhile, Parks was silent against the Kyoto Hannaryz but his Nagoya Diamond Dolphins still came away with a dominant 91-58 victory.

The second-generation baller had only five points in almost 15 minutes of play.

Scott Eatherton led Nagoya with an impressive statline of 18 points, nine rebounds, and two assists as they now stand at ninth spot with a 10-7 win-loss record.

But while Ramos' and Parks' clubs were successful in their respective matches, four other Filipinos suffered losses.

Kobe Paras and his Niigata Albirex BB fell to Sunrockers Shibuya, 70-79, with the Filipino reinforcement only putting up three points and three rebounds.

Matt Aquino's Shinshu Brave Warriors and Javi Gomez de Liaño's Ibaraki Robots absorbed defeats as well after falling prey to Gunma Crane Thunders, 90-87, and Shimane Susanoo Magic, 87-59, respectively.

Thirdy Ravena and the San-en NeoPhoenix, meanwhile, hung tough for three quarters against the defending champions Chiba Jets before falling 101-89. Thirdy himself found his groove, notching 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and one assist.

San-en dropped to 3-14 while Chiba improved to 13-4.
