The NLEX Road Warriors kept their unblemished record with a close 102-100 victory over sister team TNT in the 2021 PBA Governors' Cup on Wednesday at the Araneta Coliseum.

KJ McDaniels, who previously saw action for the Tropang Giga two years ago, fired 33 points, eight rebounds, two steals, and one assist as NLEX went 3-0 early in the team standings.

Big man JR Quiñahan was also a key cog, pouring in 15 markers and three boards while Don Trollano chipped in 15 points as well.

NLEX's win also spoiled the double-double effort of TNT reinforcement McKenzie Moore, who churned out 15 points and 14 rebounds as his team opened its campaign on the wrong foot.

TNT, who was coming off the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup championship, now sports a 0-1 win-loss card.

NLEX will try to clinch its fourth win in a row when the Yeng Guiao-mentored squad faces Terrafirma on Saturday, December 18, at 3 p.m. The Dyip earlier fell to Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots to drop 1-2.
