Ramos, Toyama squeak past Aquino's Shinshu; Parks scores 13 in Nagoya's win vs Mikawa
Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses got the better of Matt Aquino and his Shinshu Brave Warriors, 92-75, on Wednesday in the 2021 Japan B.League at home at the Toyama City Gymnasium.
Ramos finished with eight points, six rebounds, and three assists while Brice Johnson carried the load for the Grouses with a double-double of 21 markers and 11 boards as Toyama improved to 7-12.
Aquino, meanwhile, notched 10 points and three boards for the undermanned Brave Warriors, who dropped to 9-10.
In another game, Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins mauled the Seahorses Mikawa, 82-65, as they remained in the sixth spot with a 12-7 card. Parks registered 13 markers, three boards, and two steals.
While Ramos and Parks steered their teams to wins, four other Filipino cagers and their respective clubs dropped their matches.
Kiefer Ravena listed 28 points and eight dimes but those weren't enough as Shiga Lakestars tumbled against Osaka Evessa, 89-81, to drop to 6-13. Aside from Ravena, Novar Gadson also had a huge game with 18 markers and eight boards.
Meanwhile, Javi Gomez de Liaño's Ibaraki, Thirdy Ravena's San-en NeoPheonix, and Kobe Paras' Niigata were all unsuccessful in their matches.
