Thirdy Ravena, San-en continue slump with OT loss to Osaka; Kiefer's Shiga escapes Yokohama

Thirdy Ravena and the San-en NeoPhoenix suffered yet another heartbreak, this time against Osaka Evessa in overtime, 90-85, in the 2021 Japan B. League on Saturday at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

Ravena finished with eight points, three rebounds, and an assist while Robert Carter and Justin Knox chipped in 20 markers apiece as San-en absorbed its 12th straight loss for a 3-17 win-loss card.

D.J. Newbill led Osaka, pouring in a double-double effort of 32 points and 12 rebounds to go along with four assists and a steal as his squad improved to 11-10.

Meanwhile, Thirdy's older brother, Kiefer, and the Shiga Lakestars survived the gallant stand put up by Yokohama B-Corsairs with the older Ravena leading the way, 76-72.

Kiefer posted 20 points, eight assists, and a steal while Novar Gadson was also pivotal for the Lakestars, carving out 10 markers and seven boards as they now go 7-13 in the team standings.

Aside from Thirdy, Kobe Paras and the Niigata Albirex BB were also unsuccessful as they tumbled against the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 88-76, to drop to 2-18.

Paras was silenced as he only grabbed seven points, four rebounds, and an assist in 27 minutes of play while Rosco Allen provided the spark with 16 markers and seven boards.
