Ray Parks, Dwight Ramos drop 15 each in Nagoya, Toyama wins

Filipinos Ray Parks and Dwight Ramos and their respective squads notched wins on the second day of 2022 in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League) on Sunday.

Parks and his Nagoya Diamond Dolphins team started the year on a high note after defeating the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 91-76, to extend their winning streak to nine.

The Filipino import registered 15 points and five rebounds, while teammate Scott Eatherton listed a game-high 21 points.

Meanwhile, Ramos and his Toyama Grouses team bounced back to split their weekend match against the Hiroshima Dragonflies, 90-74. This comes a day after Toyama lost, 84-79.

Ramos, like Parks, also listed 15 points in the win as his squad snapped their three-game skid.

Javi Gomez de Liaño and Matthew Aquino, on the other hand, suffered losses in their B.League games this afternoon.

Gomez de Liaño and his Ibaraki Robots team lost to Alvark Tokyo, 81-65, where he was limited to less than five minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Aquino logged less than a minute of play in the 89-74 loss of his team Shinshu Brave Warriors against the Chiba Jets. This comes a day after their 92-74 loss against the same team.

Nagoya (18-7) will try to repeat their victory against the same squad tomorrow, while Toyama (9-17) will see action again next weekend against the Akita Northern Happinets.

Ibaraki (5-20) will attempt to bounce back on Monday against the same team, before they face Nagoya on January 8. Shinshu (10-16) will play Hiroshima on the same date.
