Ravena brothers, Kobe Paras start 2022 with B.League losses

It may not be the start of the year that they would have wanted as brothers Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Kobe Paras, and their respective squads all suffered losses in their first games this 2022 in the Japan Professional Basketball League (B.League).

Kiefer and his Shiga Lakestars team lost to the Akita Northern Happinets, 94-77, with the Filipino player being limited to just six points in 19:53 minutes of play.

The Sunday and Monday games of Shiga also had fundraising activities for those affected by Typhoon Odette.

Meanwhile, Kiefer's brother Thirdy scored 10 markers in the San-en Neophoenix's 103-71 loss against the Kawasaki Brave Thunders. Paras, meanwhile, had six points in the 88-68 defeat of Niigata Albirex BB against Sun Rockers Shibuya.

The three teams will try to bounce back against the same opponents on Monday.

In Division 2 action, both the teams of Juan Gomez de Liaño and Kemark Cariño also suffered losses.

Juan's team Earthfriends Tokyo Z slid to 5-23 after another loss to the Fukushima Firebonds, 90-83. On Saturday, the team also lost to the Firebonds, 87-77. Juan was not part of the team's lineup for both games.

Meanwhile, Cariño and his Aomori Wat's squad lost to Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka, 86-75, where he logged only 3:40 minutes of action. Aomori will play again on Monday against the same team.
