NBL postpones Adelaide 36ers' next 2 games over COVID-19 protocols

It will take a while before Kai Sotto and the Adelaide 36ers could build on their momentum after a thrilling 88-83 overtime win over Melbourne United last weekend.

According to the National Basketball League (NBL), Adelaide's match against Brisbane Bullets on Thursday and Sydney Kings on Sunday have been postponed due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

"The Hungry Jack's National Basketball League (NBL) has made changes to the Round 10 schedule in line with its [COVID-19] health and safety protocols, and respective state government close contact requirements," the Australian league said.

"The health and safety of the players, coaches, clubs, staff and fans is the League's number one priority when considering these matters."

Against the defending champions Melbourne, Sotto made a crucial basket that gave the 36ers a five-point lead with only 34 seconds left in the extra period. That shot gave Adelaide the victory to improve to 4-6.

The Filipino wunderkind finished with 12 points, four rebounds, and one assist.

Adelaide is expected to return to action on February 11 against the Brisbane Bullets at the Nissan Arena.
