Tough night for Filipinos as clubs of Thirdy Ravena, Paras, Ramos absorb losses in Japan B.League
Filipino imports Thirdy Ravena, Kobe Paras, and Dwight Ramos had a tough outing on Wednesday as their respective clubs absorbed losses in the Japan B. League.
Ravena and the San-en NeoPhoenix extended their losing streak to six after falling to Gunma Crane Thunders, 101-68, to drop to 4-25 and remain at the 21st spot in the standings.
Ravena had a solid game, pouring in 12 points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 23 minutes of action while Robert Carter finished with 13 markers, five boards, and four dimes.
Meanwhile, Ramos' Toyama Grouses and Paras' Niigata Albirex BB snapped their respective winning streaks after failing to escape their foes.
The Grouses, who won back to back games prior to the match, fell prey to Shimane Susanoo Magic with a 91-75 defeat. Ramos' 10 points and three rebounds were not enough as they slid to 13-10.
Niigata, which won its last two matches, was handed a 74-51 loss by the Utsunomiya Brex behind Isaac Fotu's double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds.
The 24-year-old Paras was hardly felt, producing only four markers in almost 17 minutes of play.
Toyama will next battle Javi Gomez de Liaño and his Ibaraki Robots on Saturday while Niigata and San-en will try to bounce back against Gunma and Ryukyu, respectively.
