Kai Sotto, 36ers fall short against Brisbane Bullets
Kai Sotto and his Adelaide 36ers battled hard but could not find the plays they needed to close out the win as they stumbled against the Brisbane Bullets, 77-73, on Friday in the National Basketball League (NBL).
Sotto finished with six points, five rebounds, and one steal while Daniel Johnson poured in a double-double of 15 markers and 12 boards as the 36ers dropped to 4-7.
Brisbane, meanwhile, improved to 5-7.
Adelaide led almost all game-long, even having the upper hand, 70-63, with 3:46 left in the final period. Brisbane, however, launched a 12-0 spurt led by Lamar Patterson as they snatched back the lead, 75-70.
Adelaide would nail a late three-pointer courtesy of Sunday Dech but it wasn't enough to lift the 36ers.
The loss came after Adelaide escaped Melbourne United, 88-83, in overtime last February 2. Their momentum, though, was halted after NBL decided to postpone their next two games against Brisbane and Sydney Kings.
