Hiroshima snaps 5-game winning streak of Matthew Aquino's Shinshu
The Hiroshima Dragonflies ended the Shinshu Brave Warriors' five-game winning streak in a 75-66 victory on Sunday in the Japan B.League.
Matthew Aquino, a Filipino player who is registered as a local for Shinshu and is part of Japan's national training pool for the Asian Games, did not see action in the loss.
Aquino's teammate Josh Hawkinson listed 14 points to lead the Brave Warriors, while Wayne Marshall had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Reo Maeda and Ko Kumagai made 11 points each.
Meanwhile, Nick Mayo led the Dragonflies with a game-high 18 points while Thomas Kennedy, Naoto Tsuji, and Ryo Terashima had 12 points each.
Shinshu dropped to 17-18 while Hiroshima improved to 20-16.
The Brave Warriors will return to action on March 4 against the Kawasaki Brave Thunders.
In Division 2 action, Kemark Cariño's team Aomori Wat's were swept by the Kagawa Five Arrows over the weekend. Kagawa won 88-74 on Saturday and 78-62 on Sunday. Cariño, however, was not included in the lineups of both games.
