San Miguel downs Ginebra to take its first PBA 3x3 leg crown

The San Miguel Beermen (SMB) bagged their first PBA 3x3 leg title as they downed Barangay Ginebra, 21-15, on Sunday in the second leg of the second conference of the tournament held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bacon Austria delivered the winning shot for the Beermen as the finals match drew near the two-minute mark.

Jeff Manday led the Beermen with 13 points, while Austria and Ken Bono listed three points each. Moncrief Rogado added two points in the win.

Prior to the finals, the Beermen defeated Pioneer Pro Tibay in the semis, 21-19, and Platinum Karaoke 21-17 in the quarters.

Ginebra, meanwhile, went 21-18 against the Limitless Appmasters in the semis and 22-15 against the Meralco Bolts in the quarters.

The TNT Tropang Giga and the Purefoods TJ Titans completed the playoffs picture for the second leg of the second conference.

TNT won the first leg of the second conference, while this was the first finals stint for both SMB and Ginebra.
