Ginebra's Scottie Thompson, Justin Brownlee named BPC, Best Import

Defending champion Barangay Ginebra dominated the individual awards as  Scottie Thompson and Justin Brownlee ruled their respective categories in the 2021 PBA Governors' Cup.

Thompson was named the Best Player of the Conference after edging Mikey Williams of TNT, Robert Bolick and Arwind Santos of NorthPort, and Matthew Wright of Phoenix Super LPG.

The do-it-all guard collected 1128 votes to bag his first-ever BPC plum since joining the league in 2015.

Brownlee was hailed the Best Import, beating out other candidates in Mike Harris of Magnolia, Tony Bishop of Meralco, and Cameron Clark of NLEX.

The resident reinforcement tallied 559 votes from the stats group, 493 from media, 73 from the players, and 150 from the PBA for a total of 1275 votes. Harris garnered 795 while Bishop and Clark had 739 and 443 points, respectively.

This is Brownlee's second Best Import plum after bagging the same award during the 2017-2018 Commissioner's Cup.

Ginebra and Meralco are currently duking it out in Game 4 of their best-of-seven final series at the Araneta Coliseum with the Bolts holding a 2-1 series lead.
