TNC secures top 3 finish, send Omega to lower bracket

TNC Pro Team secured their best-ever finish in franchise history with a 3-1 conquest of Omega Esports in the upper bracket semifinals of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 9 playoffs on Friday.

TNC imposed their will on the hapless Omega squad as they never let their rivals get going en route to booking their ticket in the upper bracket finals.

A win on Saturday will give TNC the right to represent the Philippines in the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup in June 2022.

In Game 1, TNC's fundamentals were in full display as they slowly choked up Omega's maps with timely jungle disruptions and accurate objective taking to establish an 8k gold lead in the 8th minute despite a slim 4-1 kill lead.

They took the opener in 9 minutes and 58 seconds, the second fastest match of the season, to pull ahead 1-0.

In Game 2, Omega opted for a TNC-like draft taking Beatrix, Lylia and Karina and veered away from team fights with no kills registered until Duane "Kelra" Pillas' (Beatrix) 4th minute first blood.

It looked like a lengthy late game encounter was incoming with only four kills registered by the 12th minute until Dean Christian "Raizen" Sumagui (Karina) caught an out of position Robee Bryan "Yasuwo" Pormocille (Clint) in the 13th minute that touched off a 2-0 wipe leading to a sudden finish, 1-1.

Game 3 was a different story though as both teams engaged in multiple team fights through out the match with Omega establishing a 5-1 kill spread before Ben "Benthings" Maglaque (Franco) connected a pinpoint Iron Hook on Kelra (Brody) that sparked the fightback capped by a 9th minute 3-1 exchange.

TNC maintained control from there and took the lead, 2-1, courtesy of Mark Genzon "Kramm" Rustana's (Esmeralda) 5-0-4 KDA who lorded over the exp lane throughout the match.

With momentum on their side, TNC stepped on the gas in Game 4, taking a quick 3-1 kill lead in the 3rd minute that they extended into a 9-3 dominance by the 10th minute.

They were already up 15k on the net worth when TNC used a decisive 2-1 exchange in the 19th minute to finish off Omega.

TNC commanded a massive 23-4 kill spread in the close out game.
