Ginebra governor explains Mark Caguioa's absence from team's Season 47 roster

Mark Caguioa will miss yet another conference.

According to team governor Alfrancis Chua, the 42-year-old Caguioa will skip the upcoming 2022 PBA Philippine Cup, which kicks off this Sunday, as the veteran cager will need to attend to personal matters.

"Si Mark Caguioa, wala muna siya sa roster dahil he needs to fix something," Chua said during the league's pre-season press conference on Monday.

"For sure this conference hindi muna. Aalis siya I think by Wednesday or Thursday, may aayusin siya."

Caguioa had missed the past two conferences with Ginebra, including the previous Governors' Cup, which they ruled.

Despite missing another campaign for the Gin Kings, though, Chua clarified that Caguioa will always be welcome to return to the team, even as one of the assistant coaches to current tactician Tim Cone.

"Alam niyo naman si Mark napakabait na tao kaya kami, anytime na gusto niya bumalik to play or to be coaching staff, i-we-welcome namin siya kung kailan niya gusto. Very welcome siya sa Ginebra," Chua added.

"A lot of fans will miss Mark but he's gonna be part of the family of Ginebra, hindi mawawala si Mark. May aayusin lang tapos babalik din sa 'tin."
