Rain or Shine trades Javee Mocon to Phoenix in exchange for Demusis, two future picks

After four years, Javee Mocon is leaving Rain or Shine.

The 6-foot-3 forward has been traded by the Elasto Painters to Phoenix Super LPG, just in time before the Fuel Masters open their campaign in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday against San Miguel.

The deal, which has been approved by the league, will allow Rain or Shine to acquire the rights to Nick Demusis and Phoenix' 48th and 49th Season's second round draft picks.

Mocon, a four-time NCAA champion with the San Beda Red Lions, was Rain or Shine's sixth overall pick in 2018 and was also a member of the 2019 All-Rookie Team.

Mocon was Rain or Shine's third top scorer as he averaged 11.09 points in the previous conference alongside 6.82 rebounds, 3.09 assists, and 1.00 steals. He, however, missed Rain or Shine's opening day triumph over Converge last Sunday, where they eked out a tight 79-77 win.
