Joseph Eriobu stars as Purefoods holds off TNT for Leg 6 title

Joseph Eriobu starred for the Purefoods TJ Titans as they escaped TNT Tropang Giga, 20-16, to rule Leg 6 of the PBA 3x3 Third Conference on Sunday at Robinsons Place Manila.

Eriobu tallied 11 points, highlighted by three two-pointers that helped the Titans get a much-needed 14-6 lead against the Tropang Giga. They never looked back en route to stunning a multi-titled TNT squad.

Jed Mendoza had four points while Jun Bonsubre and Marvin Hayes finished with three and two markers each to complement Eriobu's stellar outing as Purefoods secured its first leg supremacy in the conference.

Purefoods had an even 1-1 card in the preliminary round, winning over TNT but losing to Zamboanga Valientes.

In the playoff stage, however, Purefoods asserted mastery over Platinum Karaoke in the quarterfinals, 21-15, before escaping Meralco Bolts 3x3 in the semis, 19-17.

The Bolts finished third after a tight 18-17 win over Limitless Appmasters in their battle for bronze.
