CJ Perez registered a triple double performance in the San Miguel Beermen's bounce back win against the Converge FiberXers, 111-92, on Sunday in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Perez posted a stat line of 15 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists in SMB's fourth win in five games in the All-Filipino conference.
The Beermen, playing without Chris Ross, Vic Manuel, and Terrence Romeo, unloaded 34 points in the second period against Converge's 23 points to end the first half at 62-39. They tallied their biggest lead, 57-26, at the 4:02 mark of the second quarter, making it hard for Converge to complete a comeback in the second half.
Aside from Perez, Mo Tautuaa and June Mar Fajardo posted double doubles, with Tautuaa making 19 points and 10 boards and Fajardo listing 18 points and 16 rebounds. Jericho Cruz had 22 points in the SMB win.
Allyn Bulanadi connected five of eight of his triples to score 22, while Mike DiGregorio added 21 points in Converge's loss.
The Beermen (4-1) are now tied with Barangay Ginebra at the top spot as they head to their match against Rain or Shine on Wednesday. Converge (2-4), meanwhile, will face Barangay Ginebra on Friday.
