Converge downs NLEX to snap two-game skid
The Converge FiberXers returned to the winning column after taking down the NLEX Road Warriors, 112-108, on Thursday in the 2022 PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The FiberXers led by 16 points in the middle of the fourth quarter and were up by 12 with less than one minute before NLEX mounted a late rally. However, time was on Converge's side and the FiberXers eventually had its third win in eight games.
Dave Murrell took the better of his former team as he tallied 21 points to lead Converge. Tyrus Hill added 18 points, while Taylor Browne, Justin Arana, and Maverick Ahanmisi had 15, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
Kris Rosales' 29 points and Kevin Alas' 23 points went to naught in NLEX's fourth loss in eight games.
Converge will go against NorthPort Batang Pier, while NLEX will face Rain or Shine, with both games to be played on Saturday.
